I hunt for and write about exceptional products for a living, and have read thousands of reviews for innumerable goods. That’s all to say that I have read many a gushing review. Yet I have to admit, the volume of exceptional reviews for these quick-dry hiking pants from Baleaf impressed even me.
These popular men’s and women’s pants are comfy, lightweight and so water-repellant that reviewers recount spilling bottles of water on them and simply watching the water roll off. The women’s are surprisingly stylish, thanks to their adjustable ankle straps that give the option of a more tapered look (the women’s also have a 7% off coupon available to clip for a discount at checkout right now). In my opinion, most impressive of all is the material’s UPF 50+ sun protection factor, which reviewers swear by for guarding their legs from UV rays.
Reviewers not only love these comfy pants for hiking, but also say they basically live in them. And they mean it. In addition to being vouched for by hikers and lovers of comfy clothing, folks with tons of different professions and hobbies have added these pants to their daily rotation of staples, including dental hygienists and nurses who use them as scrubs, fly fishers, climbers who zip-line and rappel, office and retail workers, camera operators, people who rehabilitate and groom animals, and construction workers. Some reviewers even dress them up to wear out to dinner.
The women’s pants are available in 30 colors in sizes XS–3XL, and the men’s version is available in five colors in sizes S–3XL. You can also choose between petite, regular or tall for the women’s, and two inseam lengths for the men’s. (Note: For the women’s pants, a number of reviewers suggest sizing up.)
Each has deep zippered pockets so you can stash your phone and other hefty items comfortably, then zip them right up to ensure they’re extra secure. (The women’s version has two pockets at the side, one on the thigh and one at the back, and the men’s version has two zippered side pockets and two cargo side pockets.) As someone who has been unwillingly subjected to women’s pants with either no pockets or insultingly small, shallow pockets, this is nothing short of awesome.
They’re also highly durable, with one reviewer mentioning their pair got caught on an aluminum decking during a construction job, and their pants not only did not rip, but did not even snag. Okay, I’m listening.
According to reviewers, they’re perfect pants to pack for travel since you can roll them up super tight, using up almost no room in your luggage.
The adjustable drawstring waist will help these fit even if you’re feeling bloated or have some fluctuations in weight. And strikingly, folks of all body types love them, including tall, petite and plus size reviewers.
One reviewer’s adult son was so impressed by her pair that he asked if they made them in men’s. Luckily for him, they do. And finally, reviewers say they also do a great job protecting against mosquitoes.
These pants are exactly what I’ve been looking for, so I’ll be stocking up on a pair or two, too. Read on for what Amazon reviewers have to say.
“I wore these pants daily on an 8-day backcountry canoe trip for which I wanted good sun coverage. They held up great! They dried quickly (important on a canoe trip) and breathed well. I’m as happy with them as I would have been with a pair of pants from REI, which were all $50+ more expensive. Zipper pockets were nice ― particularly enjoyed the thigh pocket which fit a standard iPhone + small map and fun-size candy and was accessible while seated in the boat. For sizing reference, I’m 5′3″ and 125ish lbs, and a small worked well and still had room for me to slip a pair of long underwear under on our coldest day.” — Ana
“Love this pants! They can be dressed up or dressed down. They are wrinkle free, light weight, contain 4 different zippered pockets and the drawstrings at the ankles can be pulled or not pulled, depending on if you want a jogger/hiker pant look or a causal pants look. These are super comfortable – I ordered two pairs and loved them so much I immediately got on online and ordered 2 more pairs in different colors. They fit true to size – I’m 5 ft., 1″ and approximately 113 pounds – an XS fit me perfectly with a nice loose fit. Highly recommend these – I think they’d also be great for travel – they are so lightweight they would not take up much room at all in a carry on bag.” — Denise Miller
“I am 67 years and love to garden. I wear these pants for the sun protection along with a white long sleeve crew neck. They have worked great and I do not overheat in them. The fabric is light weight and breathable.” — Smartlady
These pants are a HuffPost reader favorite, and if you haven’t gotten your own pair already, you’re missing out. They’re water-resistant, breathable, and oh-so-comfortable with an elastic drawstring waist and adjustable cuffs to keep out bugs. That’s not even to mention the four pockets, which are (unfortunately) a true luxury, especially in women’s fashion. They’re available in 30 colors, three fit types (petite, tall, and regular), and seven sizes (XS-3XL) in women’s, and five colors, two fit types and six sizes (S-3XL) in men’s.
The women’s pants have a 7% off coupon right now — clip it for a discount applied at checkout.Promising review: “Can’t say enough good things about these! I’m 160 lb 5’2 and I ordered the petite small, even though I usually order medium. It would have been too baggy in the crotch with a bigger size, and I’m glad they have an option for shorter people so they don’t drag on the ground. These are comfy and cute! I tested these in warm and cooler climates, 50°-85°. Doesn’t trap in heat to make you sweltering, but also did keep me warmer when it was a bit chilly. I just bought another pair in gray to switch between when I go to Costa Rica where it will be rainy and hot. These will be a great addition to make sure the weather doesn’t stop me from hikes or any other outdoor activities!” — Alexandrea Jones
It’s always a good idea to have a reflective jacket if you run or bike at night. Having one with durable waterproofing, a lightweight and packable design, six pockets, plus a drawcord hem and elastic sleeve cuffs to keep water out is a bonus that’s worth the money. This versatile hooded jacket comes in six sizes (S-3XL) and nine colors.Promising review: “Obviously, there are a number of similar products out there that cost three and four times as much as this rainproof windbreaker, but I couldn’t be happier with this one. I travel to Ireland and Scotland, where it frequently rains and can be quite chilly & windy. This is the perfect outer layer. Super lightweight and packable, yet keeps me completely dry—and it cuts the wind really well.” — T. Kimmel
One HuffPost editor is “very much a fan” of these leggings, which are comfortable and breathable with a flattering fit, have pockets, and are blessedly not see-through, according to reviewers. Choose from three fit types (one pocket, three pockets, or water-resistant), seven sizes (XS-3XL), and 31 colors.Promising review: “Let me first say I am SUPER picky about my leggings. I typically pay over $100 for Athleta or Lululemon. Material that hides my bumps is a MUST. I planned on not liking these but surprise surprise, they are very nice. Smooth material, soft material, juicy material for lack of a better way to put it. A nice amount of give, not too much so that they stretch out, but enough to hold everything in where it needs to be held in. Perfect cut, comes up over my waist to the sweet comfortable spot. Love the side pockets. I’m 5’6″ and the length is perfect. I got black and they are not shiny at all, more matte like my expensive leggings. Fleece lined for the winter but not too warm or bulky looking. I do think I will be back for more!” — Patrick M

Promising review: “I needed a shirt to wear on an 8 day Grand Canyon River Rafting Trip. I needed sun protection quick dry, cooling, and comfort was key. I bought 2 of these shirts and they were outstanding! They protected me from sunburn, so I did not need to worry about sunscreen. They kept me cool in 100 F plus weather, and dried quickly after each trip through the rapids. They were very comfortable, and held up great during the trip. I changed into a fresh shirt after day 4, but there was no odor even after 4 days. Once home they washed up great! Excellent product and great value!” — DR
If there’s one thing Baleaf understands, it’s the need for leggings with pockets. This sweat-proof pair comes with three — two on the side that are deep enough to hold your smartphone, and an extra hidden pocket in the waistband. These pants are also more hot-climate-friendly than the earlier fleece-lined option, thanks to their shorter length and your choice between lycra or nylon. Reviewers love the snug fit and that the high waist doesn’t roll down and liken them to more expensive activewear brands like Lululemon. They’re available in sizes XS-XXL and in 11 colors.Promising review: “I now have about 4 pairs of these Capri Highwaisted Leggings by BALEAF and I love them. They are very flattering and love, love, love the pockets!! They fit snuggly, but shape you beautifully. Too warm for Triple digit weather, but perfect during normal summer heat and early fall. They wash and wear well, so I would definitely buy these again.” — D. Elliott
You deserve to work out in a shirt that can handle your sweat, and this one is designed to do the job. The tagless collar and ergonomic seams promise to allow a greater range of motion provide comfort, while the reflective tapes and logo set this shirt apart by making it conveniently visible in low light if you’re a nighttime jogger. It comes in sizes S-3XL and 11 colors. Reviewers have even judged the quality to be on par with (or even above) shirts from more well-known brands like Under Armour.Promising review: “I bought this shirt for my husband. He loves them. So much that I bought almost every color for him. The fit is nice and true to size. They wash up beautiful and so far no piling or signs of wear. I machine wash and dry. He plays pickle ball everyday so they get plenty of use. I would buy these shirts again and give them as a gift.” — Patricia Levi
These mid-rise shorts are made with Baleaf’s popular quick-dry fabric, plus built-in mesh briefs to add support and breathability. In addition to side pockets, these also have a rear pocket with a zipper to keep your phone or other items secure. You can buy the shorts in a bunch of colors with or without lining, and six sizes (S-3XL).Promising review: “Best running shorts I’ve found, ever. I’m 6 foot even and 160 lbs. These are not too short nor too long. They allow full flexibility for stretching and will not chafe after 12+ mile runs. They are not baggy either, which I’ve had problems with in other brands. I’ve owned 3 pairs for the past almost 3 years now rotating and using them daily and they are just starting to wear in the thigh area. So probably last one year of running 40-50 miles/week. I would keep wearing them, if that was an acceptable thing to do, so I bought 2 more and they look like they haven’t changed a bit. The 5 inch inner seam seems to be the right fit for me. Any longer and they wouldn’t feel like running shorts. I tried the 3 inch seam and they were too short for my build and whiteness. They are also very compatible with running spandex tights as well. I won’t buy any other running shorts moving forward.” — nick
Is there anything more comfortable than a mesh-lined skort? I’ll wait. This high-waisted A-line design is perfect for golf, tennis, or even everyday wear, thanks to the 17 colors and patterns that can add some more flair to your activewear wardrobe. It also comes with three pockets and a hidden internal drawstring. Reviewers also love the longer length for its modesty and sun protection, as well as the shorts underneath for preventing chafing. Grab it now in sizes XS-3XL.Promising review: “I bought this skort for a trip to Hawaii where we planned on hiking. This skort turned out to be the best purchase. It was super comfortable and flattering. The longer length was great to pair with tanks or fitted tees. I went on two hikes with the skirt and the shorts did not ride up which has been a problem with many skorts from name brand fitness brands. I wished I had purchased several because I could have worn them everyday. I am 5’5 and 185 and typically wear a 12. I am pear shaped with a fuller tummy and bottom. The large was just a tad bit small and the pockets pulled. The XL fit great.” — Amazon Customer
The longer 10-inch inseam length and loose fit on these shorts makes them a great option for anyone who isn’t a fan of “short shorts.” With two side pockets and one back pocket, you can store all the essentials while you run, walk, or even just hang out around the house in these comfy bottoms. They’re available in sizes X-S-3XL and 11 colors.Promising review: “I bought these shorts about 3 years ago. I had to come back to review these shorts. I’m 5’3″ and 187 lbs. They fit just below my knees. (as I like them). They wash well. I take them out of the dryer and either fold them or hang them up. They do not wrinkle if folded neatly or hung on hanger. They are very comfortable and wears very well. They are my favorite go to shorts. You can dress them up or down. I wear them every where. They have held their color and shape. I have several colors. The waist is elastic and not bulky. The waist stretches to flatten out on your waist. My weight flexes a few pounds up and down and they are still comfortable when I wear them. These shorts are great. One of the best buys I have ever made. I didn’t review them when I bought them and I felt bad about it because they are still of good quality and have remained my go to short and at the rate they are holding up, they will be for a very long time. Buy them.” — ragtop
Biker shorts are a great alternative to shorter shorts that might chafe, and Baleaf sells these popular ones in three lengths (8-inch, 5-inch, and 3-inch) so you can choose the one that works for you. The gusseted crotch and curve-enhancing back seam are just some of the design details that make these biker shorts comfortable and easy to move in. They come in seven sizes (XS-3XL) and a bunch of colors, with further options for “softer” material (the ones labeled “classic” are the regular biker shorts).Promising review: “I use these shorts for working out, going out for errands & even occasionally under dresses. They don’t fall, they’re not sheer in my opinion and they are very flattering. My favorite type are the buttery soft but I also have their other shorts and feel the same about them. Great. Repeat customer and recommend them to everyone I know.” — Felicia
